Kate Finn

A native of Detroit, guitarist Kate Finn has been on the guitar scene for over twenty years. Kate is a film music honors graduate of Berklee College of Music. While at Berklee, she received The John Ambercrombie Jazz Masters Award and a four year Merit scholarship for academic and musical excellence.

Since leaving Berklee, Ms. Finn has been performing, recording and teaching in the Boston area. For the last thirteen years, Kate has been a guitar faculty member the program coordinator and workshop facilitator of the jazz,rock, blues, ensemble program at the prestigious All Newton Music School in West Newton, MA.

In 2006 - 2008 Ms. Finn will be gigging in Boston and metro west in her duo with the legendary Boston Pops trumpeter and vocalist, Dennis Alves, and in her trio "Absolute Groove" with critically acclaimed clarinetist Diane Heffner and the infamous song writer, guitarist Wendy Sobel. Kate can also be found gigging with the electrifying gospel vocalist Sally Sweitzer. Kate also just hooked up with Sarah Woolf's "Wicked Queeah Band".
